Work on constructing the Brama Jury retail centre in Zawiercie is going to plan. Master Management Group’s modern centre in the heart of the Kraków-Częstochowa Jura is to combine a traditional shopping centre and a retail park with a four-screen cinema and a supermarket. The opening is planned for the second half of 2025.
Currently, the construction team is working at the ground level on the foundations as well as on the sewerage and drainage, while working upwards with the construction. Work is underway to stabilise the ground including embankments and excavations. The work to lay concrete for the foundations and the centre’s footing has reached an advanced stage. Work has begun on the external mains network. Already, the drainage for the slope is in place. The main roofing structure for the building has been ordered. According to the engineer reports for Brama Jury, the work is rapidly rising up from the ground to move onto the retail park section and the construction of a large format supermarket. The shopping centre and cinema section is soon to reach a similar stage. New subcontractor teams are coming onto the site responsible for the next stage of the work. At the height of the construction, the general contractor has planned for almost 180 people with many different specialities to be on site.
"The construction work is on schedule. Materials are being delivered to plan, which makes it possible to move smoothly on with the work, using the full potential of each construction team to the maximum, each being responsible for a particular element within the project. Acceptances are also being made on an ongoing basis with the investor’s construction inspectors. So far we haven’t hit any problems,” explains Marek Borowski, the technical coordinator at Master Management Group.
Brama Jury is being built to the highest standards of sustainable development. Master Management Group, working together with auditors and the general contractor is coordinating the work to obtain a BREEAM certificate at the construction stage.
The new retail centre in Zawiercie is to combine a classical shopping centre with an internal passageway and a retail park as well as a four-screen cinema and a large format supermarket. A total of 40 stores have been planned over an area of 16,200 sqm with fashion, accessories, sport, household items, electronics and household appliances. There will also be restaurants and cafés. Master Management Group is directly responsible for the leasing of the centre.
The centre is being built in an attractive location for both local residents and tourists next to the city’s main communication route that connects the Zawiercie bypass to the A1 motorway. This is part of Silesia’s popular national road nr 78. Near to Brama Jury is a roundabout that leads off in the direction of Katowice and Częstochowa and to the centre of Zawiercie. There is also a Mc Donald’s restaurant, a filling station and a local economic zone. A car park for 517 vehicles is to be constructed on the site.
The general contractor is SPEC BAU Polska. The architectural design project for the Master Management Group was drawn up by the APA Via studio from Łódź.
